Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs

Dr. Krusemark has more than 20 years of experience in higher education and brings with her a passion and dedication to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success. As the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, Dr. Krusemark oversees Admissions, Student Affairs, Student Success, and Health & Wellness, providing wraparound support to students throughout their time at SFBU. "I look forward to working with the faculty, staff and students to grow the university and enrich the student experience, ensuring that all feel valued and empowered and can make the most of the transformative, 21st-century education SFBU offers."

Keith Sheppard joined SFBU as an Enrollment Counselor in April 2024. Originally born in Southern California, Keith has been a San Francisco Bay Area resident for over 25 years and enjoys the Bay Area's diversity and culture. He is a San Jose State University graduate with a Bachelor's in Communication Studies. With three years of experience in college admissions and being a first-generation college graduate, Keith brings a passionate and professional approach to helping students find the right path to educational success and learning about our students and their goals. Keith is firmly committed to changing lives and setting students up for a successful future.

Maricela joined SFBU as an Enrollment Counselor in April 2024. She is proud of being born and raised in the Los Angeles area. She is a first- generation indigenous Latina. Maricela obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Social Science and concentration in Mexican American Studies at San Jose State University. Her compassion in assisting unsheltered college students to find a stable home and seek services within Los Angeles County for 6 years led her to pursue a Master of Science in College Counseling and Student Development from Azusa Pacific University. Through her experience in basic needs programs in higher education granted her to continue providing holistic counseling and a safe space for students. With two years of experience in career counseling focus field in career technical education where she prepared students for the 21st century career path. She is confident that she will continue to be the pipeline for all students to receive a successful, safe learning, and memorable experience in higher education.

Maryam Jadali is a dedicated Student Affairs Officer at San Francisco Bay University. Maryam’s extensive experience in administration has taught her the importance of fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment. Maryam holds a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from San Jose State University.

Possessing an MBA LLM degree, and amassing over 7 years of professional experience in the business realm, the individual is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business while serving as a dedicated student affairs officer at San Francisco Bay University, the place where she earned her MBA degree and worked in admissions team during her education. Beyond the official role, this individual actively contributes as a mentor and guest speaker, lending valuable assistance to current students in the university. Originally from Iran, the journey to the US commenced three years ago, ushering in a new chapter. To balance her life, she is passionate about fostering connections through friends and family gatherings, hiking and dancing. Maintaining a positive and optimistic outlook, this individual takes joy in guiding applicants and students toward optimal educational pathways.

Student Affairs Officer

Emilia serves as a Student Affairs Officer for SFBU and has 9+ years of experience in Post-secondary Higher Education. Through her experience she has led with a "students first" mentality and enjoys helping students through their educational journey. Emilia has aided students in reaching their career goals through Career Services and she has served as a student advocate in Student Services. Currently, she plays a great role on the Admissions team, aiding in student applications as well as acting as the University Articulation Officer. She works closely with the academic team to make transfer easier for our California Community College applicants, ensuring each unit is evaluated and considered for maximum transfer. She is proud of the efforts of SFBU and the dedication to providing students with transparency of transferable units which aides in the goal of providing affordable programs to our community.

International Student Advisor / PDSO

Jessie is an International Student Advisor/Designated School Official at SFBU, she brings over 16 years of rich experience to the diverse International Student body pursuing higher education. With a passion and dedication to guiding international students regarding immigration matters and their nexus with academic, administrative, and various personal immigration issues, and also advises international alumni on OPT/STEM OPT. As a DSO, she ensures compliance with all aspects of the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS as required by Federal Law, in meeting all SEVIS reporting requirements for all international students.

Front Desk Receptionist

Lesley joined SFBU as the Front Desk Receptionist in June 2024. She is a Dominican University of California graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Lesley has dedicated over ten years in primary and secondary education throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. During this time in the field of education, she provided a holistic and restorative approach to students who required a safe place to foster a supportive environment where they could learn & grow. Before transitioning to higher education, she served first-generation and international low-income students and their families, assisting them with housing, counseling, health, and other essential services. Lesley is confident that she will continue to provide an environment where all students feel welcome and encouraged to pursue their education successfully.
